With Baptism and Eucharist, the sacrament of Confirmation or Confirmation constitutes the set of "sacraments of Christian initiation," the unity of which must be safeguarded. It must therefore be explained to the faithful that receiving this sacrament is necessary for the strengthening of baptismal grace. By Confirmation, Christians, that is, those who are anointed, participate more in the mission of Jesus Christ and in the fullness of the Holy Spirit with which he is filled, so that their whole life pours out the fragrance of Christ.
