Paul (sing) Saul) by Tarsus, known as Saint Paul for the cult tributaries (Tarso, 5-10 – Rome, 64-67), was a Christian writer and theologian.

He was the Apostle of the Gentiles, or the principal (according to the Acts of the Apostles not the first) missionary of the Gospel of Jesus among the Greek and Roman pagans.

According to biblical texts, Paul was a Hellenized Jew who enjoyed Roman citizenship. He did not directly know Jesus, although he co-evoted him, and, like so many compatriots, he warned the new Christian Church, coming to persecute her directly. According to the biblical narrative, Paul converted to Christianity while, going from Jerusalem to Damascus to organize the repression of the Christians of the city, he was suddenly wrapped in a very strong light and heard the voice of the Lord, who said to him: "Saul, Saul, why are you pursuing me?" Reso blind from that divine light, Paul wandered for three days in Damascus, where he was then healed by the head of the small Christian community of that city, Anania. The episode, known as "conversion of Paul", gave the beginning to the work of evangelization of Paul. SOURCE WIKIPEDIA
