Michael (Hebrew מיכאל) is among those to whom the Bible expressly attributes the title of archangel, like Gabriel and Raphael, mentioned in the Book of Tobias.

Michael is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, in the Book of Daniel 12:1, as the first of the princes and guardian of the people of Israel.

In the New Testament he is referred to as an archangel in the Epistle of Jude 9, and in theRevelation of John 12:7-8 Michael is the angel who leads the angels in the battle against the dragon, representing the devil, and defeats him. It is implicitly named in Joshua 5:14-15 (Joshua 5) and in Zechariah 3:2 (Zechariah 3). Being called here the"Personal Angel of the Lord," we can find his figure in Genesis 16:7 which links back to I Corinthians 10:4 which in turn links to Exodus 3:2 and 23:21 which link back to Isaiah 9:5 and 63:9 and then finds itself in Judges 2:1[1] and revealed in the link between Malachi 3:1 and Mark 1:2 and Psalm 106:20 and John 1:1.
